JUNIOR FIRST LEGO LEAGUE

2 new community teams coming in August

JrFLL is focused on building interest in science & engineering in children ages 6-10. It is a hands-on program designed to capture young children's inherent curiosity & direct it toward discovering the possibilities of improving the world around them. It features a real-world challenge to be solved by research, critical thinking and imagination. This season we will be focused on the journey of water in "Aqua Adventures."

BAYOU BUILDERS FLL #4043

FIRST Lego League

FLL offers an opportunity for upper elementary & middle school students to design, build & compete with a robot constructed of LEGOs & to create & deliver a 5 minute research presentation on the annual competition theme. The Bayou Builders currently hold a provisional patent for their Animal Allies project ~ a fully automated water filtration & correction system for aquariums. This year's theme is Hydrodynamics.

FIRST TECH CHALLENGE

We plan to have our team up and running by the end of August.

Following a sports model, FTC teams design, build, program, & operate robots of their own design to play a floor game in an alliance format. . Guided by adult coaches & mentors, students develop STEM skills & practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation & sharing ideas. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design, & other real -world accomplishments. Teams consist of

FLL Jr is focused on building interest in science & engineering in children ages 6-10. It features a real-world challenge to be solved by research, critical thinking and imagination. This season we focused on researching how to construct a lunar base in "Mission Moon." All 10 teams had the opportunity to present their work at the first annual Northshore FLLJr Showcase hosted by FRC Torbotics on February 23.

The Bayou Builders currently hold a provisional patent for their Animal Allies project ~ a fully automated water filtration & correction system for aquariums. This year's theme is Into Orbit.

EVENT HORIZON #13017

FIRST Tech Challenge

Following a sports model, FTC teams design, build, program, & operate robots of their own design to play a floor game in an alliance format. Students document everything in a detailed engineering notebook and learn how to run their team like a business. Guided by adult coaches & mentors, students develop STEM skills & practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation & sharing ideas. Awards are given for robot performance as well as for community outreach, design, & other real -world accomplishments. Teams consist of students ages 12-18 years oldand can include 10+ members. This year's theme is FIRST Relic Recovery.
